Horizon Technology Park, Oxford
Introduction
Horizon Technology Park, Oxford
Horizon Technology Park is a 14.95-acre mid-tech and R&D campus in Oxford, comprising 184,000 sq ft of existing accommodation and five acres of development land with the potential to deliver a further 100,000 sq ft. It is one of the largest privately owned mid-tech innovation parks in the Oxford market.
Elwood acquired the park off-market in 2022, identifying growing demand for mid-tech, R&D and advanced manufacturing space at a time when much of the market was focused on laboratories and prime science park assets. The park supports businesses combining research, engineering, development and manufacturing, with occupiers spanning advanced engineering, defence technologies, medical devices and precision manufacturing. Siemens operates a specialist facility at Horizon where MRI machine magnets are tested before installation across Europe.
Elwood is progressing plans for approximately 100,000 sq ft of additional mid-tech and R&D accommodation, with Stage 4 design being finalised and planning progressing. Significant infrastructure investment is also securing more than 2MVA of additional power capacity to support increasingly power-intensive technology and manufacturing occupiers. Future plans include enhanced cycling facilities, electric bikes, outdoor wellbeing spaces and additional amenities, with the aim of strengthening Horizon as both a business location and a destination for talent.
Since acquisition, Horizon Technology Park has increased in value from £42 million to £59.35 million as at March 2026, while retaining significant development and infrastructure-led growth potential.
